🚴‍♂️ Introducing DRAAFT: A New Era for Cyclists and Tech Enthusiasts

🚴‍♀️ Sometimes the best ideas come from the most unexpected places. In early 2024, while riding indoors on my turbo trainer, I found myself struggling with a simple, yet frustrating problem—accessing my phone easily while cycling. Whether I was checking my stats, typing in the chat or using power ups on the Zwift Companion app, I was constantly fumbling with my phone.

That’s when the idea for DRAAFT was born. 💡 I wanted to create a solution that gave cyclists easy access to their phones —without the hassle of clipping them in or using complicated release mechanisms. Inspired by MagSafe technology and the existing GPS stem mounts most cyclists already have on their bikes, I realised there was a way to make it simple and seamless. And so, Maggie was born.

Maggie uses MagSafe technology to magnetically hold your phone in place, allowing you to easily attach and remove it without any fuss. Existing GPS stem mounts, often left on bikes that are used both indoors and outdoors, became the perfect spot for this innovation.

From concept to product, the journey wasn’t without its challenges. Prototyping, sourcing suppliers, and building a business from scratch were just the beginning. I also had to navigate the complexities of shipping physical products—handling packaging, managing inventory, and ensuring a smooth customer experience, all while learning the ins and outs of e-commerce platforms like Etsy and Shopify. And of course, 3D printing became a game-changer, enabling me to quickly iterate, refine and produce the product from home.

After months of hard work, countless prototypes, and overcoming a series of technical hurdles, DRAAFT launched in September 2024. The response has been incredible, and it’s been so rewarding to see a product come to life that blends my passion for cycling, technology, and design.

As a solo founder, every step of the process has been a personal journey—from designing the product to running the business—and I couldn’t be more excited for what’s ahead. Maggie is just the beginning, and I’m looking forward to continuing to innovate and make life easier for cyclists everywhere.

Thanks for the support—let’s ride into the future together. 🚀
